The PARAMOUNT 420SS blades are made from a lightweight aerospace aluminum holder and a superior-quality tapered and honed 420 stainless steel runner. The aluminum holder makes them incredibly light weight. When combined with the modern lightweight boot, they can take up to 5lbs off each skater thus increasing jump height and length. The stainless steel runner is much stronger than the regular carbon steel of most blades and holds edges much longer between sharpening. This also makes the runner resistant to chips or nicks and results in less friction and a more consistent blade surface on which to train with longer blade life.
These Paramount Blades are profiled after the Phantom blade. Same radius and pick. They have Large toepicks and are a good choice for those who need extra grip doing Triple Lutz and Flip jumps.
The 420 blades should be used by skaters under 100lbs. Heavier adult skaters should conisder the 440SS to get the best performance and longest life from their blade.
